Our group provides individual, couples and family psychotherapy. Some of the specific things that we treat include:Depression and Anxiety
If your depression or anxiety is getting in the way of important aspects of your life, we can help you identify ways of getting unstuck and provide you with tools for the future.
Whether you are trying to figure out if you might have a problem, feel like the possibility of change is hopeless or are dealing with the unique challenges posed by extended sobriety, each of our clinicians has been trained in assisting with substance abuse issues and will work to help you identify your best way forward.
Grief and loss (human and companion animal)
While losing someone we love is one of the hardest experiences we face, having a non-judgmental helper can ease the process and help to find healing and meaning. We are particularly proud to be able to offer services that are sensitive to the needs of pet owners who have lost their pet.
If you are struggling with your current partner or your family, or are struggling to find a partner and see that old habits are interfering with your pursuit, we can help you identify and untangle the knots that get us stuck in unhelpful patterns.
Coping with chronic health issues (HIV/AIDS, MS, and other health challenges)
Research has shown that how our minds respond to chronic health issues can move us closer to health or push us farther away. If you are facing a new diagnosis, we can help you to come to terms with what this does (and doesn't) mean for your life. How we see our chronic health concerns can change and grow over time, so if you have been managing your health issue for a while, we can help you engage with that process in a mindful, compassionate and new way.
Coping with mental health diagnoses.
If you or a loved one have been diagnosed with a mental health disorder, we can help clarify what that means and create appropriate strategies to help manage it. We want to empower you to take what's useful from a diagnosis and apply it towards living the life you want.
Whether you are having trouble with your children's behavioral issues, are managing an IEP or other educational challenges, or just feel at your wits end with the stress of being a parent, we can offer a place to make important long-term changes.
We believe in the scientifically-supported therapeutic benefits of animal support, and utilize our own trained dogs when appropriate. You can request the presence of our therapy dog or bring your own well-behaved, housebroken canine companion to our office.
In addition to our specialty areas, we work with a wide range of other emotional and behavioral issues.
